Sometimes the glazing fails and leaves a porous spot where liquid can come out.

Unfortunately there is not much to do other then washing and drying the pottery and maybe not use it for liquids anymore. If you do want to you can try to fix the problem with a food-grade sealer like Mod Podge.

We don't recommend using the dishwasher

Lukewarm water and environmental friendly soap will do the trick.
